The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is moving forward diligently in our search for our next Pastor. We continue to meet weekly to ensure steady progress and prayerful consideration of all possibilities. Utilizing the Church Leadership Connection (CLC) system, we are actively reviewing applications, listening to sermons, and engaging in thoughtful discernment as we evaluate each candidate against our church's unique needs and vision. There are many faithful candidates but we are taking our time, staying true to the unique mission and vision of our churches future and seeking God’s choice not our own.
We remain committed to this thorough, Spirit-led process and thank you for your continued patience and prayers as we seek the person God is calling to lead our congregation.

We have been diligently meeting and preparing the ministry discernment profile, a document that represents our church, our mission, and our aspirations to eligible and qualified pastoral candidates. Each one of you is always on our mind as we seek to represent the body of LNPC. Our MDP will go in front of the Committee on Ministry of the Los Ranchos Presbytery this Thursday, February 5, for review.
PNC Update

The process to discover our next pastor is moving forward! On November 9, 2025, the congregation will elect a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to find our next pastor. Between today and October 19th, we need your help to nominate candidates to serve on the PNC. Committee members will help create a job description for the new senior pastor, identify and evaluate candidates, and craft the final job offer and call package. Their selected nominee will be presented to the congregation for approval. As you prepare to make your nominations for the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC), please consider the following:

Members of the PNC will be expected to be a part of a team committed to working together in unity as the PNC seeks to find God’s choice as their next pastor.
Members of the PNC will be asked to maintain strict confidentiality as to the conversations and the work of the PNC.
Members of the PNC must be a member of Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church.
The PNC will be doing one of the most important tasks in the life of the church, therefore nominees ought to be spiritual mature individuals who are able prioritize participation in the search process.
The search process is expected to last approximately 12 to 18 months.
Most of the PNC’s work will involve in person meeting participation. The frequency will vary, but for most of its term, the PNC will often meet weekly.
There will be some tasks outside of the meetings (e.g., reading documents, listening to recorded sermons by candidates, etc.). This is expected to average several hours per month once we begin receiving resumes.
Members of the PNC should make the Committee’s work a very high priority and should be willing to commit a significant amount of time to the process. Before you nominate a member, please ask them first to make sure they are willing to serve. Every nomination will be taken seriously, but we expect that gifted potential members will be recognized by many in our congregation.

On November 9th, the Congregational Nominating Committee will present a slate of recommended participants to the congregation. A recommended slate will contain 9 to 11 members. To submit your nominations, fill out the enclosed form and place in the offering baskets in the Sanctuary or in the Church Office. You can also submit nominations via the church website at: LNPC.org/PNC.

Please make sure to include all requested information. Incomplete forms will not be used. Thank you for your love and commitment to LNPC.
